ARITA

 

Arita is a beautiful 2 year old Japanese Akita. 

She is owned by the TikiHut Akita Rescue.  She has been in the system for over a year now.  Prior to coming to the rescue she had been in 5 homes. She started in Brazil, went to Paraguay, then San Francisco and now Sacramento.  Her last adoption was to a family with children, she did well until the family fell apart and could not keep her.  So now, she’s back.

Don’t feel sorry for her yet. Arita is truly the smartest dog I have ever worked with. She is one of those dogs that does not fit the average dog mold. With her I always caution people not to let her get your bank PIN number or she will probably figure out how to steal you blind.  She can open doors, crates, gates and other confinement devices. We never tried handcuffs but my money is on Arita being able to pick the lock. During her first stay with me she received obedience training.  She did very well, but only after she decided it was her idea.

 

Arita is not allowed to play with other dogs.

So far she has not really hurt any of them but she can pin one to the ground in the blink of an eye. Needless to say, other pets around her are out of the question.

 

Currently Arita is being boarded in a kennel. Why? She can screams like the wind. How bad can a dog scream?  When your neighbors almost call the police because they think someone is being murdered, that’s how bad.  So, why would anyone want this dog? Because, if Arita likes you she is the most loyal dog you could ever find.  She does not run off and she is smart enough to learn algebra.  And, she only screams when she is left alone.

 

If you know an experienced dog owner that is: knowledgeable about Akitas, will not leave the dog alone or lives where noise is not a problem, has no other pets, is looking for a best friend and enjoys a challenge….have him give me a call.
